Kids' sportswear in India is sized by age – 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 – but the label on the tag is a starting point, not a promise. Activewear is less forgiving than an everyday tee: too tight and your child spends the whole match tugging at it, too loose and the shorts end up somewhere around the knees. Here's how to get it right the first time.

Measurements are approximate. Height is the most reliable guide – measure your child barefoot against a wall.
Sportswear fits differently from an everyday tee
A school tee can sit loose without anyone noticing. A sports tee that's too big billows when your child runs, catches on things and gets in the way of the game. A sports tee that's too small rides up the moment they raise their arms.
The sweet spot is close but not clingy: enough room to pinch a little fabric at the sides, with shoulder seams sitting right at the edge of the shoulder.
Three checks before you order
1. Measure height, not age. Age labels assume average growth. Your child is a person, not an average.
2. Between sizes? Size up. Kids grow roughly one size a year. A set that's marginally roomy in September fits properly by December and still fits next summer.
3. Check the waistband, not just the tee. Shorts with an inner drawstring give you a season of adjustment room, which is why sizing up is lower-risk on a set than on a fitted garment.

FAQs
My child is 8 but tall for their age – size 9 or 11?
Go by height. Around 130 cm → size 9. Closer to 138 cm → size 11, and you'll get longer wear out of it.
Do polyester sports sets shrink in the wash?
No. Unlike cotton, poly mesh holds its dimensions – so the size you buy is the size it stays. Wash cold and skip the dryer to protect the fabric's stretch.
Can I order the tee and shorts in different sizes?
The sets are sold as matching two-pieces in a single size. If your child is between sizes on top and bottom, size up – the drawstring shorts absorb the difference.
Are the sets unisex?
Yes. Every print and size is cut unisex, 4 to 13 years.
What if my child is under 4?
For younger children, soft cotton is the better everyday choice – browse toddler clothes for 2–4 years.
